Great app(using blokada+ for $17 a year) , works on all browsers, including news aps like Flipboard and it does it all the time, no matter what you are using. The messages from the ads just say it timed out. Their VPN is way overpriced, I use Proton VPN(better features). You can pick from different lists of ad-servers you want to block, but the standard one seems to work well enough. Be sure to add the drop down that you can use to turn it off(it will be added to buttons like location and such).

new ui is awful EDIT: i dont like having to scroll through huge, bright blocks of all my lists, tapping huge toggles to turn them on and off. I wish there was a much more condensed menu available. Also, the activity tab isn't working (it just shows "waiting for data") but that's (probably) not the UI's fault.

Reduced to three stars because I've been unable to get it to work on my ne Samsung Galaxy S25. It worked fine on my old phone, but doesn't want to work on this one. Doesn't even show up in the list of devices on the phone or my tablet. Working with customer support, but getting frustrated.
